Hyperion Partners is seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Operative to join our client's team at a vibrant student accommodation property in Exeter. As a Maintenance Operative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the property remains safe, clean, and well-maintained for residents. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct routine inspections and carry out repairs and maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, and general property upkeep.
Manage and address reactive maintenance requests from residents and staff, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
Liaise with contractors and suppliers as required, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard.
Support health and safety practices, reporting any issues promptly and maintaining accurate maintenance records.
Assist with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks to keep facilities in excellent condition.
Carry out minor decorative works, helping to create a welcoming and well-maintained living environment for students.
About You:
The ideal candidate will be proactive, with a keen eye for detail and strong problem-solving abilities. You should be able to work independently, take initiative, and communicate effectively with both residents and team members.
Requirements:
Proven experience in a similar maintenance role, ideally within a residential or student accommodation environment.
Practical skills across multiple trades, including basic plumbing, electrical work, and general repairs.
Knowledge of health and safety procedures and the ability to work in accordance with industry standards.
A positive, flexible attitude and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ in Maintenance Operations or equivalent) are desirable but not essential
