A Council is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Waste Services to lead and direct their operational activities related to waste management. This is a critical leadership role contributing to making the borough a great place to live, work, and visit.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead, manage, and strategically oversee all aspects of the Council’s Waste Services.
Ensure compliance with statutory duties, delivering effective services aligned with legislative requirements and Council policies.
Drive continuous improvement through robust performance management.
Provide expert advice on waste services in line with local government frameworks and regulations.
Foster a culture of efficiency, sustainability, and accountability across the service.
Key Requirements:

Extensive experience in waste services management, with strong leadership skills.
Robust knowledge of performance management principles, coupled with a deep understanding of key legislative frameworks.
Strong understanding of the political and social context of local government, with the ability to navigate and influence within this landscape.
