Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Reigate
Salary: £85 - £90 per day (PAYE)
Hours: Full-time, 9:00 am - 3:30 pm, or 3-day-per-week option

We’re looking for a patient, empathetic, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Reigate. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young learners, working closely with a team of educators and specialists.
About the Role
In this role, you’ll provide essential support to children with autism and other complex needs, helping them access the curriculum and fully engage in school life. You’ll work alongside the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals, using specialized strategies and tools to foster each student’s social, emotional, and academic growth.
Key Responsibilities of a SEN TA
Deliver one-to-one and small group support, adapting activities to align with individualized education plans (IEPs).
Assist in tailored learning activities, using various methods and resources to meet each child’s needs.
Promote communication, social skills, and emotional development through methods like Makaton, PECS, or other communication tools.
Create a structured, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that promotes each student’s well-being and growth.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and external agencies to support students’ development holistically.
Provide personal care support when needed, following appropriate training and safeguarding standards.
Monitor and document students' progress, sharing updates with teachers and SENCOs to ensure continuity and effective support.
Who We’re Looking For as a SEN TA
Experience working with children with autism and complex needs in a school or care environment.
A calm, compassionate, and patient approach, capable of building positive relationships with students.
Familiarity with SEN strategies such as sensory supports, visual timetables, or social stories.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
Relevant qualifications in SEN support, childcare, or education are a plus.
A proactive mindset and a sincere passion for helping children succeed.
