Aerothermal Engineer - Job Description: We seek a highly motivated Aerothermal Engineer to join our dynamic team and play a crucial role in advancing the future of sustainable aviation. This role involves developing and enhancing our proprietary software, which is designed to identify the most effective configurations for hybrid-electric propulsion systems in aircraft through a combination of coding, simulation and hands-on testing. The ideal candidate will possess a robust aerothermal background, especially aviation-related, and demonstrate strong proficiency in an object-oriented programming language - preferably Python.
Aerothermal Engineer - Responsibilities:
* Design, simulate, and implement software solutions that calculate optimal performance layouts for hybrid-electric propulsion systems for aircraft.
* Develop CFD studies and experimental tests to validate aerodynamic models, generating CAD designs to efficiently analyse and solve complex aerodynamic problems.
* Analyse and disseminate results from a wide variety of sources including empirical data, CFD, Wind Tunnel and Flight Tests.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive and innovative product development.
* Continually strive to improve both our aerothermal and company processes.
* Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in aviation to drive continuous improvement in our software tools.
Aerothermal Engineer - Qualifications:
* Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering, or a related field.
* Hands-on experience in aerothermal engineering, with a strong preference for candidates with an appreciation of overall aircraft design and the potential of hybrid-electric propulsion.
* Familiarity with CAD and CFD software, preferably Siemens NX and STAR-CCM+.
* Strong proficiency in Python or equivalent, with a keen desire to apply this to software development for aerospace applications.
* Willingness to develop and lead complex engineering projects.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
* Strong communication and teamwork abilities, capable of collaborating effectively with diverse teams.
* Highly motivated and self-directed, with a preference for hybrid or fully remote working.
