Lead SENCO Position at North West London School

Position: Lead SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)

Start Date: September
Salary: Up to UPS3 with SEND TLR (Teaching and Learning Responsibility)

Role Overview:

As the Lead SENCO, you will be at the forefront of driving the school's SEND strategy and ensuring the highest quality of education for all students with special educational needs. This pivotal role requires a passionate and experienced individual who can lead and inspire a dedicated team, working collaboratively to support students' academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the school's SEND policy, ensuring it is consistently applied across all areas.
Staff Management: Lead and manage the SEND team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
Student Support: Oversee the identification and assessment of students with SEND, coordinating tailored support plans and interventions.
Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, external agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive support for students.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Regularly review and assess the effectiveness of SEND provision, using data and feedback to drive improvements.
Compliance: Ensure the school meets all statutory requirements regarding SEND provision.

Qualifications and Experience:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential for leading and teaching within the school.
NASENCO Award: National Award for SEN Coordination, or a willingness to complete it within three years.
Experience: Proven track record of working effectively within a SENCO role or similar, demonstrating a deep understanding of SEND practices and legislation.
Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and support others.
