Our client is a Freight Forwarding and Logistics Organisation with offices across the globe and is eager to recruit an OCEAN FREIGHT MANAGER to join their successful Birmingham office. This role is working for one of the worlds most profitable and successful Freight Forwarding and Global Logistics organisations who offer their customers unrivalled service in the transportation of freight whether by Air, Sea or Road.

Seeking to recruit an OCEAN FREIGHT MANAGER who is conversant in Import and Export operations procedures to Co-ordinate and Manage the movement of Import and Export Oceanfreight whether FCL, LCL, RoRo, Breakbulk shipments etc. Managing departments day to day work loads and delegating duties, controlling department budgets, P&L’s, recruiting staff, account managing large customers etc. Working closely with the Sales team to identify growth opportunities with existing customers and also acquiring New Business through joint customer sale visits.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate their knowledge of freight forwarding and in particular Oceanfreight. Experience of managing or supervising a team of staff, possess a hands on approach, able to lead by example and actively work to develop and grow the current Oceanfreight department.

This role requires an operationally biased Ocean Freight Manager who is commercially astute and has a natural flair for sales, Account Management and is business savvy.
