We have an incredible opportunity for a Senior Development Manager to join our team at Vistry Cotswolds, at our Bishops Cleeve office. As our Senior Development Manager you will be responsible for leading on the preparation, submission and negotiation of planning applications including S106 agreements. You will liaise with key internal and external stakeholders to manage schemes from identification through the planning process and beyond.

Experience of both Planning Policy and DM planning either from within Local Planning Authority, consultancy, or a development management role
Excellent knowledge of the planning system and development processes.
Knowledge of design and technical issues relevant to house building and affordable housing contracts preferable but not essential.
Experienced in liaising and negotiating with a wide range of individuals and organisations including professional consultants, local authorities, Registered Providers/Clients involved in the development process
Proven ability to deliver projects on programme
Strong time management skills with an ability to prioritise
Thorough, with strong attention to detail
Able to work as part of a team as well as autonomously
Ability to communicate well with individuals at all levels
Strong presentation skills

Select, appoint and manage consultants in the preparation of planning applications and appeals
Securing planning approval for well-designed schemes
Produce and manage budgets and professional fees
Engage with all parts of the business to ensure planning applications are optimised and meet the needs of our customers and all areas of the business -
Manage the submission of applications to an agreed programme
Manage applications through the determination process leading with all stakeholder engagement
Manage community engagement on planning applications
Support the land team in the identification and acquisition of suitable opportunities to meet business strategy
Develop a good knowledge of the geographical area and build a network of strong relationships with key contacts
Have an in-depth knowledge and clear understanding of the continually evolving planning system
Understand the importance of viability in the negotiation and delivery of development
Manage the delivery of projects to ensure they are on time
Leading with stakeholder and LPA engagement
Working with colleagues and partners to ensure that appropriate and viable developments are achieved and with delivery at the earliest opportunity
Providing detailed handovers to the delivery team upon the successful planning determinations
Identify and mitigate against risk and work with colleagues, partners and stakeholders to manage risk.
Resolve problems in collaboration with the project teams and colleagues and share learning to champion continuous improvement and ensure successful delivery of schemes.
Promote and represent Vistry Partnerships when appropriate in order to maximise development opportunities and the reputation of the company.
When required, assess new business opportunities, support acquisition feasibility work and prepare planning reports.
Network with new and existing clients to identify opportunities to expand the business.
Comply with all Group's policies including Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
Any other task deemed necessary to the role.
