Hello,

My client in Oldham is looking for a CNC Machinist due to expansion.

PURPOSE OF JOB:

To safely machine parts within a set timescale and to the drawings supplied.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Work in a safe manner to promote personal safety and the safety of others to prevent accidents occurring and report all near misses.

2. Work to the required standards using and complying with the information provided ensuring work is completed “Right First Time”.

3. Follow working instructions and understand what is required before you commence work.

4. Read, understand and work to the technical information supplied. If in any doubt speak with your Manager.

5. Operate machinery efficiently and safely observing health & safety requirements at all times.

6. Ensure machine set ups are carried out as efficiently as possible and that the “best” tooling and manufacturing methods are used.

7. Produce machined parts using best manufacturing practice and using all technical information provided.

8. Handle all machined parts with care.

9. Handle materials safely when lifting and slinging and be aware of the safety of others.

10. Look after the equipment and tooling supplied. Ensure that machines are kept clean and lubricated.

11. Ensure that all measuring equipment used is registered, calibrated and booked in and out of the inspection room during and after use.

12. Ensure that routine machine maintenance is carried out and recorded.

13. Report any faults in the operation of machinery and or equipment as soon as possible.

1. Complete paperwork/records accurately and on time.

2. Book on and off jobs in Jobboss ensuring accurate times are recorded

3. Work productively throughout the shift i.e. start up times, break times, finishing times etc.

4. Control of central tool store ensuring that all tooling is inspected on return to stores after use.

5. Any adhoc duties

6. Use PPE at all times where you are required to do so and ensure that PPE is in good condition to offer the protection required to prevent personal injury. PPE must be replaced before it fails to provide the required protection.

7. Keep your work area clean, tidy and free from obstruction at all times thus creating a safe working environment. Ensure that all waste is disposed of correctly.
