JOB DESCRIPTION
Our engineering client, based in Littlehampton, is a leading global manufacturer of castings for automotive and defence industries.
They now require a qualified Maintenance Engineer with a minimum of 5 years plant maintenance experience, gained ideally within an industrial environment.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
You will be responsible for the continuous running of equipment and machinery within the manufacturing units.
You will oversee routine maintenance and organise repairs. Your role is vital to the efficiency, development and progress of manufacturing output and control of product through the business. Your objective will be to improve production facilities, reduce the incidence of costly breakdowns and develop strategies to improve the reliability and safety of plant.
Working Days and Hours: Monday to Friday, 0700 to 1530
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a maintenance engineer, you'll need to:
* Carry our routine maintenance work and respond to equipment faults.
* Deal with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs.
* Undertake planned preventive maintenance of plant and ensure staff are trained to carry out systematic review of plant.
* Diagnose breakdown problems.
* Fit new parts and ensure equipment is working correctly.
* Design maintenance strategies, procedures in order to control and improve health and safety standards for safe machine operation.
* Control maintenance tools, stores and equipment.
* Heath, Safety and COSHH responsibilities.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Qualification Requirements;
Maintenance/Technician NVQ level 3 or equivalent discipline is essential.
We will consider applicants that hold IMI LEVEL 3/4 Diploma in vehicle maintenance & repair.
Qualification in an electrical engineering discipline is also desirable.
