Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to oversee our warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of logistics, shipping, and materials handling. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient management of warehouse activities, including team management and adherence to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
* Supervise daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety standards.
* Manage shipping and receiving processes, ensuring timely and accurate dispatch of goods.
* Oversee materials handling, including inventory management and stock control.
* Coordinate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to optimise supply chain operations.
* Lead and train warehouse staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
* Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to maintain operational efficiency.
* Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to warehouse management systems.
* Perform heavy lifting as required and assist in the movement of goods within the warehouse.
* Utilise forklift equipment safely for loading and unloading materials.
* Apply mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise.
Requirements
* Proven experience in logistics or warehouse management is essential.
* Strong background in shipping and receiving processes.
* Familiarity with materials handling techniques and best practices.
* Experience with third-party logistics (3PL) is advantageous.
* Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff effectively.
* Capability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with warehouse operations.
* Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS).
* Valid forklift certification is preferred but not mandatory; training may be provided.
* Mechanical knowledge is a plus for troubleshooting equipment issues.
