Position: Experienced SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a supportive school environment, where your expertise will help students thrive both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEMH needs.
Assist the class teacher in implementing tailored learning and behavioural strategies.
Help students develop social skills, emotional regulation, and positive coping mechanisms.
Monitor and record student progress, adapting support as needed.
Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals to provide holistic support.
Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
Support students during transitions, both within the school day and in preparation for the next stages of their education.
Requirements:
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within an SEMH or SEN (Special Educational Needs) setting.
A good understanding of SEMH challenges and effective intervention strategies.
Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
Ability to manage challenging behaviours in a calm and professional manner.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3, or equivalent).
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
