GSL Education are currently seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisor to join a fantastic school in Sunderland. This is an exciting opportunity to work in an engaging and rewarding educational setting.

About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising students in the absence of their usual teacher, ensuring that they remain on task and complete the planned lessons. Your role will be essential in maintaining a productive and positive classroom atmosphere while ensuring that students stay engaged and focused. Whether you are covering short-term or long-term absences, the role of a Cover Supervisor is pivotal in maintaining continuity in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities of the Cover Supervisor:

• Supervise students to ensure they remain on task and complete their work during lesson time.
• Manage classroom behavior in a positive and constructive manner.
• Support students with their learning and ensure they are following the lesson plan.
• Assist in the delivery of planned lessons and activities in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and productive classroom environment.
• Ensure the health and safety of students at all times.

What We Are Looking for in a Cover Supervisor:

• A strong presence in the classroom, with the ability to manage behavior effectively.
• Previous experience working with young people as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar role, ideally in a school or educational setting.
• A proactive and adaptable attitude to taking on new tasks.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage students of all abilities.
• A passion for education and helping students achieve their full potential.
• Ability to build rapport and positive relationships with students and staff.

• Have an up-to-date CV and two relevant references from within the last two years.
• Have an enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
