We’re looking to support our client operating in the gas sector with a requirement for a Digital Technology Engineer. This will be a full time permanent staff role based in our client’s state of the art workshop facility near Stone, Staffordshire. We have innovated within the gas industry since our inception in 1984, we have paved the way, developing technologies and solutions used throughout the UK gas industry still utilised in today’s national infrastructure. Our next chapter and challenge is to aid in the gas industries transition to net zero and we are looking for passionate capable people to join our team.

Responsibilities:
• Aid in development of the latest technology, standards, and best practice into our Operational technology equipment.
• Carry out cyber security threat assessments in line with IEC 62443 or equivalent.
• Complete asset vulnerabilities identification activities.
• Research and understand the latest advancements in IT and network technologies.
• Complete R&D activities aligned to the Digital Technology Divisions 4 key Market Areas:
- OT Cyber Security
- Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT)
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Big Data Analytics.

Requirements
• Have a minimum of at least 5 years’ experience within the IT and Software Operational Technology market
• Familiarity with high-level programming language/s (Like Python, NodeJS)
• Familiarity with Web development languages (like PHP, JavaScript, and HTML)
• Familiarity with IEC61131 programming languages
• Familiarity with PLC programming IDEs such as RSLogix 5000, GX Developer, Codesys and TIA Portal
• Familiarity with databases such as SQL
• Familiarity with database integration for web services.
• Understanding of IoT devices protocols such as MQTT, AMQP, CoAP, etc.
• Familiarity with client-server architecture.

Pay: The salary banding for this role is £40,000 to £50,000 and is based on an applicant’s Skills, Training and Competence.
