Are you passionate about sport and making a difference in children's lives? We're looking for an energetic Mentor to work 1:1 and in small groups with Key Stage 2 pupils with additional needs at a welcoming primary school in Bordesley Green (B9).
This is a full-time role supporting children with social, emotional, and behavioural needs (SEMH), autism, and other learning differences. You'll use your sporting background to build positive routines, boost engagement, and help pupils thrive-both in and out of the classroom.
Your role will include:
Leading movement-based and structured sports activities to regulate behaviour
Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups to stay focused and engaged
Encouraging positive choices and emotional regulation
Working closely with the SENCO and class teachers to adapt strategies
Acting as a mentor and trusted adult throughout the dayYou'll need:
Experience working with children or young people with SEN or challenging behaviour
A sporting or coaching background (school, club, youth work or similar)
Patience, resilience, and a positive, team-focused attitude
