Role: Labour Ganger
Type: Freelance.
Start Date: 9/9/24
Location: Hemel Hempstead.
Duration: Ongoing.
Salary/Rate: Up to 250 per day via Ltd Company or PAYE Umbrella, dependent on skills and experience. This role has been deemed to be outside IR35 if necessary, if it passes the IR35 assessment, this will be assessed for each candidate.
 
We are currently in the process of hiring a reliable and experienced Labour Ganger to oversee and coordinate the activities of the labour force of a large-scale data centre in Hemel Hempstead. The successful Labour Ganger will be responsible for ensuring that the labourers work efficiently and safely, contributing to the timely and successful completion of the project.

Telehandler DriverAs a Labour Ganger, your primary roles and responsibilities will include:

Team Coordination:
Supervise and direct the daily activities of the labourers, ensuring that all tasks are completed according to the project schedule and quality standards.
Task Assignment:
Distribute work among labourers based on their skills and experience, ensuring that each task is carried out effectively and efficiently.
Safety Oversight:
Ensure that all labourers adhere to site safety regulations and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Conduct safety briefings and monitor compliance throughout the day.
Work Quality Monitoring:
Inspect work in progress to ensure it meets the required standards. Provide guidance and corrections where necessary to maintain high-quality output.
Material Handling:
Oversee the safe handling and movement of materials on site, ensuring that all materials are stored safely in correct lay-down areas.
Site Cleanliness & Organization:
Ensure the site is kept clean, organized, and free of hazards. Coordinate with the welfare cleaners to maintain site hygiene and order.
Bin to be collected from the site and emptied into site skip
Collection of site skips.
Reporting & Communication:
Report any issues, delays, or concerns to the Site Supervisor or Site Manager promptly. Maintain clear communication with the team and other site personnel.
Training & Mentorship:
Provide on-the-job training to labourers as needed, helping them to develop their skills and improve their performance.Essential Criteria:

Proven experience as a Labour Ganger or similar professional construction experience.
Strong, leadership and interpersonal skills.
CSCS Card
SSSTS or equivalent Construction Health & Safety Certificate.
Ability to work on own initiative.
An excellent eye and attention to detail.
Understanding of construction processes, plans, and safety regulations.
Ability to read and understand drawings
Must live within a commutable distance of Hemel Hempstead.
