Cable Jointer
Toro Recruitment is currently representing an established high-voltage design &build contractor who is currently seeking a skilled Cable Jointer to join their dynamic team. This pivotal role entails the installation of HV and LV assets across various sites, as well as contributing to commissioning and cable termination tasks for Industrial, commercial and renewable energy projects across the UK. This position requires nationwide travel, occasionally involving overnight stays.
Responsibilities for the Cable Jointer will include:
* Install HV/LV substation equipment.
* Perform HV/LV jointing, including specialised cable terminations.
* Install switchgear and transformers.
* Conduct testing of earthing and associated equipment.
* Adhere to company rules, health and safety guidelines, and environmental standards.
* Collaborate closely with the on-site team, following instructions from Project Engineers and work packs.
* Attend training courses and pursue continuous development opportunities.
* Continuously seek improvements and promote effective practices within the role.
* Present a positive company image to clients.
Requirements:
* In-depth knowledge of current health and safety legislation, with a strong emphasis on CDM.
* Emergency First Aid & Manual Handling.
* Full Clean Driving Licence.
* HV experience with 11kV and 33kV.
* Ability to read electrical drawings and flow diagrams.
* Qualified LV/HV Cable Jointer (no DNO/IDNO Authorisation required).
* Experience in Substation Installation works.
* IPAF/PASMA certification.
What this opportunity offers:
* Salary paying up to £42,000 per annum with OTE of £50,000-£55,000 per annum (through overtime, bonus, door-to-door pay)
* Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
* Door to Door pay
* Overtime available at inflated rates across standard hours, weekends and Bank Holidays
* Annual bonus of 10%
* Commercial + fuel card
* Accommodation and expenses paid for
* 25+ days holiday
