The role will require the following responsibilities:

Deliver engaging and comprehensive music lessons to students across various year groups, fostering a love for music and encouraging creative expression.
Develop and implement a well-structured music curriculum that meets national standards and caters to a diverse range of student abilities.
Prepare students for music examinations, performances, and extracurricular activities, including school concerts, competitions, and events.
Inspire and motivate students to explore different genres of music, instruments, and technologies, encouraging them to achieve their full potential.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and support to help them improve.
Manage and maintain musical instruments, equipment, and resources, ensuring they are in good condition and available for student use.
Contribute to the wider school community by participating in staff meetings, parent evenings, and professional development opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have/be:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialization in Music (unqualified teachers also accepted).
Experience teaching music at the secondary school level, with a strong understanding of the curriculum and assessment requirements.
Excellent subject knowledge and proficiency in a variety of musical instruments.
Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage and inspire students of all abilities.
A commitment to extra-curricular activities and a willingness to lead school music clubs, choirs, or bands.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).Has a clear and valid DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one.
A commitment to the welfare and safeguarding of children.
