Electrical Estimator:
Based at Manchester Airport, working on our long term framework
Key Responsibilities:
Estimating & Tender Preparation: Develop accurate and detailed cost estimates for projects, including materials, labour, equipment, and sub-contractor items.
Manage and prepare competitive bids and proposals, ensuring all submissions are accurate, complete, and on time.
Prepare detailed technical submissions to accompany tender returns, ensuring compliance with client specifications and industry standards.
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive prices and quotations.
Attend client meetings when required – pre-construction / design team meetings to enable successful handover to project delivery team.
Identify potential project risks, incorporate contingencies, and present value-engineering options to reduce costs.
Monitor and analyse budgets to ensure cost-effective project delivery.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify project requirements and optimise resource allocation.
Understanding of cable calculations & design requirements.
Key Qualifications:
Experience: Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator in construction or electrical contracting.
Strong understanding of electrical systems and industry regulations.
Experience in Sub-stations (HV/LV) would be desirable.
Proficiency in cost analysis, budget forecasting, and risk assessment.
Experience with estimating software (e.g., Trimble or similar), Microsoft Office Suite, and project management software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
DBS check would be required to be undertaken (You must have been continuously resident in the UK for at least the last 5 Years, and be able to provide previous employer employment confirmation letters, without significant gaps in that period)
