Smart Solutions are working with an established client within the electronics manufacturing sector who are seeking an experienced Buyer to join their team. You will manage the sourcing and purchasing of direct and indirect materials, determining quantity and timing of deliveries to meet production dates.

Hours: 39 hours: Monday to Thursday 7.45am – 4.30pm Friday 7.45am – 1pm

Summary of duties of the Buyer:

* Review technical specifications for materials in order to source correct parts and alternatives.

* Negotiation of prices and contracts in order to maximise savings potential and contractual commitments for the business.

* Run and manage MRP recommendations and effectively forecasting of strategic stock requirements and upcoming demand, ensuring flexible Customer requirements support.

* Ensure accuracy of SAGE Master Data (Product Information) for pricing, lead-times and Supplier Contact Information in order to support Philtronics Ltd budget objectives.

* Provide strategic pricing information in support of Customer RFQs producing effective competitive edge.

* Source reliable Suppliers and managing Supplier performance in order to support on time, on cost on quality requirements.

* Attend Supplier Meetings and Supplier Interface Management, ensuring performance management and continuous improvements in the supply chain.

Required skills of the Buyer:

* Previous experience within a buyer/supply chain role in a manufacturing environment.

* Excellent Analytical and Negotiation skills

* Ability to perform under stress

* Purchasing and inventory management skills

* Experience in carrying out 5S and other Continuous Improvement initiatives (preferred)

For the successful candidate, our client is offering:

* An starting salary of £33,000 - £38,000 DOE
