About the Role
Unify, a specialist recruitment agency, is thrilled to be hiring on behalf of our client—a leading building services contractor specialising in HVAC systems, heat pumps, and air conditioning solutions. Known for delivering excellence in the industrial, commercial, and residential sectors, our client is seeking a skilled AC Engineer to join their growing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a range of exciting projects, including installations, servicing, and maintenance of advanced air conditioning and heat pump systems, across a variety of environments such as commercial buildings, residential properties, and industrial sites.
Key Responsibilities
System Installation & Maintenance:
Commission, service, install, repair, and maintain air conditioning and heat pump systems.
Assist in the installation of HVAC control panels and leak detection systems.
Install pipework and containment systems, ensuring quality and compliance.
Compliance & Standards:
Review building plans and specifications to determine HVAC and air conditioning requirements.
Maintain compliance with building codes, installation standards, and relevant legislation.
Support the maintenance of the company’s F-Gas register and progress Refcom Elite Membership.
Technical Excellence:
Test systems for leaks, failures, and efficiency.
Assist the technical department in delivering high-quality service to clients and manufacturers.
Stay current with training and certifications for leading HVAC and air conditioning brands such as Samsung, Mitsubishi, and Daikin.
Team Leadership & Development:
Provide mentorship to junior team members, ensuring safety and skill development.
Support the development of trainees in HVAC, heat pump, and air conditioning disciplines.
Client & Business Support:
Prepare materials lists and orders of supplies for projects.
Assist the estimation team with quotes, tenders, and enquiries.
Represent the company at site meetings and support site surveys.
Relationships
Reports to: Senior Engineers, Line Manager, Directors
Responsible for: Junior staff and allocated sites
Liaises with: Clients, suppliers, engineers, project managers, and sub-contractors
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking an experienced AC Engineer with a proven track record in the installation, servicing, and maintenance of HVAC, heat pumps, and air conditioning systems. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, a collaborative attitude, and a commitment to delivering excellent results.
Experience: Strong background in HVAC, air conditioning, and heat pump systems.
Technical Skills: Up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and certifications, including F-Gas compliance.
Teamwork: Proactive approach to mentoring and supporting colleagues.
Attention to Detail: Commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.
