SEND Teaching Assistant (Full-Time, Long-Term)

We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at a vibrant mainstream secondary school in Lewisham. This is a full-time, long-term role with an immediate start, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on the educational journey of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored support to students with SEND, helping them access the curriculum effectively.
Assist with classroom activities to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Work closely with teachers and other staff to deliver Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support learning objectives.
Adapt resources and teaching materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
Support students' social and emotional development, promoting their confidence and independence within the school setting.
Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to the SENDCo, teachers, and parents/guardians.

Requirements:

Previous experience working with children in a professional setting, ideally within a secondary school environment.
Experience working with SEND students and a strong understanding of various learning needs and strategies to support them.
Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service (essential).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and compassionate approach.
