Supply Desk are pleased to be supporting a school in Milton Keynes in their search for a behaviour mentor to support children in the school which are displaying challenging behaviour so far this academic year or have SEN needs such as ADHD,  Autism and SEMH. The school invests in staff development and delivers a vibrant curriculum therefore helping staff and students alike achieve their full potential.

The Role:

Ensure students are on task and staying focused in lessons
Use de-escalation techniques to support children displaying challenging behaviour and diffuse difficult situations
Supporting the class teacher throughout the day and have input into next steps for the children following lessons
Supporting students inside and outside of the classroom

Provide academic and emotional support to students with behavioural difficulties and SEN needs - ADHD, SEMH and EBD
To nurture students and build positive relationships so they respond well inside and outside the classroom
Help students to be accountable for their own learning
Be a true role model and able to inspire students in different aspects of their learning
Requirements:

Previous experience working with SEN and supporting children displaying challenging behaviour
Experience working in a SEN school, alternative provision or PRU would be an advantage
Have worked with SEN children previously or in a profession with transferrable skills such as care work/ military/ support workers/ counsellor/ therapist/ social worker
Previous experience of working with people of any age in challenging situations
Confident in your ability to build relationships with students and support children displaying challenging behaviour
Resilient, hardworking and committed to making a difference in the lives of young learners
