Our client, a distinguished consultancy in the rail sector, is currently seeking a Technical Director - Rail to join their team in Manchester.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical design and delivery of multiple concurrent projects
Undertaking the role of Rail Discipline Manager or Rail Discipline Director
Day-to-day management, direction, and training of staff
Acting as a role model for others in the company
Developing relationships with new and existing clients and identifying potential work
Preparing fee budgets, proposals, and resource requirements for projects
Co-ordinating with other engineers across regional offices and technical groups
Managing the preparation of calculations, drawings, and other documents
Managing and liaising with clients on proposals and project work
Specifying and/or managing site examination and investigation works safely and effectively
Identifying and managing risks to acceptable levels

Job Requirements:

Extensive experience in multidisciplinary rail technical design delivery
In-depth knowledge of Network Rail standards
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong team leadership abilities
Commitment to developing the technical skills of junior staff

Desirable Skills:

Experience leading contractor frameworks in the rail sector
Broad relationships with key Network Rail stakeholders

Qualifications:

Chartered Engineer with ICE or CIHT
Extensive experience, ideally between 15-20 years, in the rail sector
