The Role:
As a School Caretaker, you will:

* Take responsibility for the security, cleanliness, and maintenance of the school buildings and grounds.

* Carry out general maintenance and repairs, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks where necessary.

* Ensure that all health and safety regulations are followed, including fire safety and risk assessments.

* Oversee the management of cleaning staff and ensure that all areas of the school are cleaned to a high standard.

* Be responsible for setting up and clearing away equipment for school events, assemblies, and activities.

* Manage stock levels of cleaning materials and other supplies, ordering when necessary.

* Support with external contractors and liaise with the school leadership team regarding any maintenance or security issues.

What We’re Looking For:
We are seeking a proactive and hardworking individual who:

* Has previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a school or educational setting.

* Possesses basic DIY and maintenance skills, including minor repairs and general upkeep of buildings.

* Has a good understanding of health and safety practices.

* Is trustworthy, reliable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

* Demonstrates excellent communication and organizational skills.

* Holds a commitment to safeguarding the well-being of all students and staff.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

* Previous experience in a caretaker, facilities management, or maintenance role.

* Basic qualifications in health and safety, manual handling, or similar areas.

* A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
