Primary Year 5 1:1 Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant (TA) KS2

We are working with a primary school that are requiring a SEN TA to work 1:1 with a SEN pupil in Year 5 to start as soon as possible, then role will then continue until the end of the academic year, July 2025. This role itself requires a person who excels in creating an entertaining and comfortable environment for pupils with SEN and able to work on a 1:1 basis with a pupil whist being in a mainstream classroom. The ideal candidate will have experience delivering and supporting the educational health care plans (EHCP) tailored to the specific needs of the pupil.

SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

* Have a good working knowledge of delivering the Primary National Curriculum.

* Be able to support quality learning experiences for pupils and delivering specific interventions.

* Follow school policies and procedures with regards to safeguarding and behaviour.

* Can quickly build positive relationships with both staff and students.

* Show initiative and asking for direction if needed.

* Providing 1:1 support, ensuring the child’s needs are met in line with their EHCP.

Primary SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:

* Relevant qualifications or teaching assistant experience in the classroom (e.g. CACHE Level 3 Diploma in childcare).

* UK experience as a teaching assistant.

* An enhanced DBS certificate registered with the update service or be willing to complete a new DBS.

* Good knowledge of planning and delivering personalised SEN lesson plans to maximise the pupils learning experience.
