About the role
Sytner Group have an exciting opportunity for an Infrastructure Engineer to join the IT Team. The Sytner IT Infrastructure Operations Team support a diverse range of technologies across the enterprise. This includes 7000+ client machines, 300+ servers (on-prem and Azure), 1600+ Cisco devices and over 220 wide area network links.
Reporting to the IT Infrastructure Operations Manager, you will help support the administration of a large hybrid infrastructure and network estate. The ideal candidate will be someone with relevant experience in supporting mission-critical, enterprise IT systems. This should include at least three of the following areas.
Comprehensive understanding and experience of a range of Microsoft platforms including Exchange Server, Active Directory, SharePoint, Teams and Windows Server operating systems
Experience of implementing and managing cloud-based platforms and services such in Microsoft Azure
Experience of implementing and managing servers in a clustered VMware or Hyper-V virtualised environment
Strong knowledge of Storage Area Networks and backup systems
Good understanding and experience of developing and maintaining IT disaster recovery plans and business continuity solutions
Excellent and demonstrable knowledge of PowerShell automation.
Skilled in configuration and maintenance of Cisco network equipment, with the ability to investigate, diagnose and resolve complex LAN / WLAN / WAN issues
Comprehensive understanding of IT security covering network, server and application layers
Experience of Cisco Unified Communication VOIP platform

You should be comfortable with absorbing new concepts and ideas quickly and be capable of working under pressure in a high-output environment. You will need to be able to manage your time and prioritise multiple tasks and deadlines based on their impact and urgency.
You have a keen eye for detail, take pride in the work that you do to ensure our customers and colleagues feel like they are in safe hands.
