The role

The Portfolio Team continually review the performance of Orbit’s 34,000+ social rented homes; through excellent data modelling and management we propose asset management strategies to improve the portfolio performance.

The Portfolio Analyst will be responsible for the annual update and management of our (excel based) Asset Performance Evaluation Model (APE) and Thriving Communities Models (TCS). These guide and support our decision making, along with other models such as the Void Matrix.

What you'll achieve

You will deliver an annual model refresh program, monitoring and reporting on the impact of change on Orbit’s portfolio performance. Using the quantitative outputs and qualitative data you’ll recommend appropriate strategies for Orbit’s homes and estates.

You’ll specifically focus on developing a pipeline of poor performing schemes to be progressed by the wider business.
Specific tasks involve:

Accountable for annual updates and maintenance of the team’s business tools (excel databases/Power BI).

Interrogating and understanding the data from colleagues to ensure our scheme / asset strategies are appropriate. Challenging all assumptions and exceptions to ensure data is accurate and up to date

Produce a five-year Quality Improvement Pipeline (QIP), helping our customers move into better quality homes, using a combination of quantitative and qualitative data

Continual review of the portfolio performance data to propose improvement strategies and evolve our models

Engage with external parties on portfolio projects; help them understand how Orbit record data and monitor portfolio performance to ensure the best outcome is achieved for the project.

What you'll bring

Essential skills

Enjoys manipulating large amounts of data accurately, quickly and reporting the output

Confident with cash-flow models, developing spreadsheets or databases to analyse business change

Excellent Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel

Excellent attention to detail with a critical and logical approach

Relevant experience, qualification or equivalent

Desirable skills

Competent in use of Power BI and Mapping Tools (GIS)
