Quantity Surveyor – £65-70K + Package – Exciting Opportunity with a Tier 2 Contractor

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking for a new challenge with a busy, growing Tier 2 main contractor? Based in London, this is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable and expanding team working on a diverse range of new build and refurbishment projects.

With a competitive salary package of £65-70K plus benefits, you’ll be part of an ambitious contractor with a strong portfolio of high-profile projects in residential, commercial, and mixed-use sectors. You’ll play a pivotal role in managing project costs, maintaining budgets, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the financial aspects of both new build and refurbishment projects from inception through to completion.

Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions.

Monitor project costs, cash flow, and profitability, ensuring financial targets are met.

Evaluate and negotiate contracts, variations, and claims with clients and subcontractors.

Provide accurate and timely cost reports and forecasts.

Collaborate closely with project teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate risks.

Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.

About You:

A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.

At least 3-5 years’ experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment, ideally with exposure to both new build and refurbishment projects.

Solid knowledge of construction contracts (JCT, NEC, etc.) and cost management practices.

Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

A proactive, solution-focused approach to managing costs and risks.

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative project team.

Experience using cost management software and MS Office.
