The Company

Our client is a fully independent and privately owned SME firm of Civil & Structural Consulting Engineers and has an immediate requirement for a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer. The company has been trading for over 30 years and has a well-established client base. The company is well respected and their workload consists of residential, commercial, industrial, leisure, refurbishments and new build.

The Opportunity

As part of their expansion plans, our client has an urgent vacancy for a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer who has the desire to become an Associate within the short term.

This role would suit a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer who is looking to make a difference. It promises great autonomy and the opportunity to shape and take forward a small independent of firm of consulting engineers, specialising in civil and structural engineering. This is not just a ‘number crunching’ role and you will be expected to run your own projects, visit sites, attend meetings, etc.

About You

The successful Senior Civil/Structural Engineer will have:

* An innate understanding of civil/structural engineering.

* All-round experience in building structures including load bearing masonry, timber, reinforced concrete and structural steelwork.

* Proven UK design experience utilising British Standards/Eurocodes
Ideally Chartered Membership (MIStructE or MICE) or approaching.

* Competence with computer analysis of structures and design of structural elements in most common materials.

* Good verbal and written communication skills with experience of report writing essential.

* Able to manage and coach Civil/Structural CAD technicians and Graduates.

* Experience of meetings/communications with clients and other professionals essential and a confident manner in dealing with them.

* Commitment to health and safety, CDM and CPD requirements.
