Central is currently recruiting for Support Workers to work in various locations across London on an ad hoc basis. You will provide an effective, high quality support service to address the presenting needs of residents in a busy hostel housing men and women with complex and enduring needs in relation to homelessness, substance misuse and related issues (i.e. street activity, mental health).
Successful candidates will be required to work in various shift patterns including earlies, lates, waking nights, and sleep-ins. Pay rates range from £14.74 - £17 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay).
In this position, candidates are expected to provide effective day to day shift cover that supports the aims of the project, safeguards the residents and provides effective support within a harm minimisation and strengths and recovery framework.
To apply for this role, you must have at least 12 months’ paid experience of working with homeless adults who have a variety of additional needs including substance misuse or mental health needs.
In these positions, the candidates are expected to have the ability to cope with customers who display challenging behaviour, and an understanding of the risks associated with specific service user groups. You must also be able to work flexibly with clients who have a low level of engagement with the service.

In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:
* Current valid right to work in the UK
* Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)
* A fully enhanced DBS registered on the DBS update service or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £50)
* Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
