Our Water company client are seeking a Commissioning Manager to support their Havant Thicket Reservoir team on a permanent basis.

The Commissioning Manager has a vital role in the expansion, operation and maintenance of water assets. The role is crucial to maintaining the quality of the project. You will work closely with Contractors and Operations teams, ensuing that the project achieves a seamless transition from construction, commissioning and into operation.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Asset Integration Team, which will include two Asset Integration Engineers, support from the Design Guardian, Portsmouth Water Operations and our Design and Build contractors .
Work collaboratively with the Main Contractors providing visionary leadership to ensure that commissioning processes, procedures, programmes and assurance is an exemplar for all future Reservoir Projects Planned in the UK, through continuous improvement and a commitment to excellence
Monitor compliance with requirements in asset design, delivery, and testing; monitor delivery performance; and work with contractors to address issues and improve processes
Ensure health and safety are at the forefront of everything completed
Support contractor and Operations liaison during the design process, promoting innovation, best practice, and compliance with quality standards; planning for commissioning as part of the design process, system integration, operability, and maintainability.
Communicating and reporting with internal and external stakeholders.
Overseeing the commissioning of the project as whole, engaging with all the Contractors and Work Packages within the project, including but not limited to the Reservoir, Pipelines, Pumping Stations and Water Treatment Plants.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager in reviewing the development and implementation of commissioning and test plans.
Work with the NEC Supervisors, Asset Integration Engineers and Project Managers to identify and resolve defects.
Own the commissioning risks and constraints across the project.
Develop and manage the Operational Readiness and Transfer into Operations plan.Skills, Competencies & Qualifications

Relevant Bachelors degree.
Extensive experience of commissioning and testing or asset management.
Professionally qualified or qualified by experience.
Experience of using Contract Management and ERP software would be an advantage.
Must have a driving licence and access to a car.
Strong written and communication skills: the Commissiong Manager will need to review and edit monthly progress reports, write executive summaries and ad hoc decision support papers.
An understanding of the construction industry and professional services
Relevant technical skills: knowledge of relevant asset management software, commissioning and testing processes and controls.
Appreciation of NEC contract management methodology,
Good analytical skills with the ability to review commissioning and testing plans and to witness the implementation of those plans to identify defects and recommend appropriate action and strategies
Office software skills: Proficient in the use of Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Teams
