Microwave Design Engineer

Our client is experiencing a period of sustained and high-rate growth, seeking a Design Engineer to join their south Herefordshire team on a full time, permanent basis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of advance technologies within the defence sector.

What you can expect:

* Salary: competitive salary dependant on experience

* Monday to Friday: 8:30am – 5pm

* 20 days plus bank holidays, increasing with years of service

What you will be doing:

* This is an integral role supporting the Technical Director to create and design RF Microwave amplifiers and sub systems of high value technically advanced products

* The successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of design and development from concept to production, including simulation and modelling, prototyping and testing, working with cross functional teams

* Maintaining detailed design documentation, test reports, and technical specifications

* Stay updated on the latest advancements in microwave technology and contribute to research and development initiatives within the company

What we are looking for:

* Knowledge of Design software tools including Altium Designer and Microwave Office

* Experience using Test equipment including Spectrum analysers, signal generators, Vector network analysers and Power meters

* Filters, switches, receivers and DC control/power supply are also advantageous

* A good understanding of RF microwave test equipment is essential, along with measurement techniques such as low signal and large signal gain, power, harmonics and intermodulation
