Position Summary:
Working for a rapidly growing manufacturer and supplier into the Rail Industry.

Direct Buyer - Responsible for day to day purchasing, proprietary purchases of goods to aid in ongoing manufacturing and production activities. Mainly focussing around components for repair projects.

Duties to include but not limited to:
* Purchasing equipment and components
* Preparation of enquiries, purchase orders, evaluation of bids and contractual negotiations
* Managing suppliers to meet objectives related to cost, delivery, performance, schedule and delivery.
* Negotiating with suppliers on lead-time, cost and quality - to obtain the maximum benefit to the business.
* Perform regular performance review with suppliers.
* Coordinate documentation approvals, submissions and monitor returns.
* Assisting the Business Development & Applications department - advising and estimating costs of manufacture and shipping.

Candidates will have:
Experience of working in a Purchasing & Supply Chain environment (minimum 2 years)
GCSE Grade 5 or above in Maths and English or equivalent
MCIPS (desirable)
