HGV Technician needed

Our client, a commercial vehicle repairs and specialist vehicle hire company, is seeking for a HGV Technician to join their team.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced HGV Technician who wants to showcase skills and knowledge, working on all types of HGV’s, with lots of variety. Ideally, looking for someone who has the municipal refuse vehicles specialist knowledge and experience and will be paid accordingly.

Role: HGV Technician

Hours: Monday to Friday - 7am to 4pm NO SHIFTS, every other SAT 7-12

Location: Brentwood

Key Responsibilities of a HGV Technician:

* Carry out routine and preventative maintenance on all type of HGV's including municipal refuse vehicles

* Diagnose faults in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of refuse vehicles. Repair or replace defective parts to ensure the vehicle operates efficiently.

* Perform regular vehicle inspections in line with regulatory requirements and company policy, identifying any defects or potential issues.

* Specialize in the maintenance and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic systems used in refuse vehicles, such as lifting mechanisms, compacting systems, and bin lifters.

* Provide on-site breakdown support and perform emergency repairs to ensure minimal downtime for refuse collection services.

Requirements for a HGV Technician :

* Proven experience as an HGV Technician or Diesel Mechanic. Specific expertise in refuse collection vehicles or similar heavy vehicles is preferable.

* Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (HGV), or equivalent.

* Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in refuse vehicles. Ability to work with diagnostic equipment and repair tools.
