Primary Teaching Assistant

About the Role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Wythenshawe, Manchester, supporting Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 (KS1) pupils. This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about working with young children and helping them reach their full potential.

You will be supporting a range of classes within EYFS and KS1, assisting the class teacher with daily activities, behaviour management, and providing one-on-one support to children with additional needs as required. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain diverse experience within a supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Support the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons.

* Assist with the supervision of pupils during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.

* Provide individual or small group support to children, including those with additional learning needs.

* Help with classroom management and maintaining a positive learning environment.

* Assist with administrative tasks, such as preparing teaching materials and displays.

* Support the children with their social, emotional, and personal development.

* Communicate effectively with pupils, teachers, and parents.

The Ideal Candidate:

* Previous experience working with children in a primary school setting (ideally EYFS or KS1).

* A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

* Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with children.

* Flexible, proactive, and able to work as part of a team.

* A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is preferred but not essential.

* A DBS on the update service or willingness to undergo a new DBS check.
