QHSE Manager
Location: Newcastle
Salary: Circa £50,000 per annum DOE
Job Type: Full-timeWe are seeking a QHSE Manager to join our client's team, responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment systems. The role involves advising and assisting the business in meeting statutory safety and environmental responsibilities and promoting a positive safety culture aligned with business objectives.
Day-to-day of the role:
Manage and maintain the QHSE management system in line with ISO 9001 standards.
Conduct regular meetings with management to implement process improvements and identify Non-Right First Time (NRFT) issues.
Create and monitor KPIs to track quality performance.
Oversee the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) register and Corrective Action Request (CAR) process.
Collect, analyse, and report on QHSE statistics.
Maintain a strong presence on the shop floor to audit quality and identify poor practices.
Collaborate with the production manager to support the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Provide leadership in all safety-related matters across the office and factory operations.
Identify operational improvement projects to simplify, standardise, or enhance safety and compliance.
Develop and deliver a Health & Safety plan with a robust compliance framework.
Ensure risk assessments are conducted accurately, reviewed regularly, and control measures are implemented.
Develop and maintain a positive H&S culture through coaching and influencing the management team.
Promote sustainability and carbon reduction initiatives within the company.
Develop an internal audit schedule and manage internal audits.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Perform additional duties as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience in a similar role within the panel wiring industry.
Electrical qualification, ideally 18th edition.
Qualified to QMS or QMR level preferred.
NEBOSH Diploma in Health and Safety is desirable but not essential.
Quality assurance qualification or equivalent experience, with ISO auditing experience.
Experience working in manufacturing.
Ability to engage and positively influence others.
Highly organised with a methodical approach.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and business software.
Team player with a resilient and flexible approach to work.
