We are currently recruiting for a skilled and dedicated HGV Fitter to join our clients growing team in Thurrock, offering competitive pay and a dynamic work environment. This role involves inspecting and maintaining a fleet of HGV trailers and vehicles, ensuring compliance with all required legal safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Service and inspect vehicles to VOSA standards.
* Diagnose and rectify faults as they arise.
* Identify and order necessary parts.
* Perform breakdown duties when required.
* Maintain accurate documentation in the vehicle maintenance system.
* Keep the workshop facilities, tools, and equipment clean and well-maintained.
* Ensure proper use of PPE.
* Perform routine servicing and repairs, including brakes, gearbox, and clutch repairs.
* Work to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Experience & Qualifications:
* Previous experience in heavy vehicle maintenance, repair, and diagnostics (essential).
* Experience in a busy HGV workshop (essential).
* ADR experience and knowledge
42 hours per week, between 06:00 AM and 18:00 PM, on a rotating shift pattern.
6am - 3pm, 8am-4pm, 10am-6pm.
Overtime : Monday to Saturday at time and half / Sunday Double time.
Average hours between 55-65 hrs. + Benefits.
