Level 3 (Proficient): £47,532 - £53,607Ackerman Pierce is delighted to offer an opportunity to join the Disabled Children and Young People Service (0-25 Team) in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Rated Outstanding by Ofsted in June 2024, Greenwich is celebrated for its commitment to children and young people with SEND. The recent Local Area SEND Inspection (May 2023) highlighted that "children and young people with SEND and their families in Greenwich are front and centre of the local area partnership's work."
The Role
As a Social Worker in this ambitious and high-achieving service, you will:
Work across statutory settings including Child in Need, Child Protection, Children in Care, and Care Act frameworks.
Support disabled children, young people, and their families to achieve their outcomes.
Play an active role in developing new pathways for supporting young people with SEND as they transition into adulthood (up to age 25).
Collaborate closely with integrated services such as the Children's Occupational Therapy Team and the Short Break Team.
Build strong partnerships with families, community resources, and a newly expanded Short Breaks Offer.
This is an excellent opportunity to broaden your expertise across both children's and adult's practice while contributing to innovative service development.
Requirements
Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
Experience in statutory social care settings (Children's or Adult's services).
A passion for inclusion and supporting disabled children, young people, and their families.
Strong understanding of SEND legislation and practice.
