Do you have a passion for Maths and are able to adapt lessons to suit the needs of SEN students?

We are currently seeking a qualified Maths Teacher to join a dynamic team within a newly formed SEN school in the Forest of Dean. A passion for SEN is essential, with previous experience teaching children with SEN desirable but not essential. There are only a very small number of pupils attending the school currently, so a lot of the lessons will be 1:1 with the pupils, as the others take part in other curricular activities around the site. The school are an alternative provision, and although there is no set focus on the National Curriculum, Maths and English are key subject being taught.

Key Responsibilities:

- Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of students with a range of SEND.
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including teaching assistants, therapists, and support staff, to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Develop and implement IEPs and EHCPs for students with SEN, regularly reviewing and updating as necessary networking with professional bodies when time to complete EHCP reviews.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, promoting effective communication and partnership.
- Utilise a variety of teaching strategies and resources to engage and inspire students with SEN, promoting a love for learning.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to parents and guardians.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with relevant SEN experience.
- Knowledge of various learning difficulties and disabilities, including but not limited to Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, and Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties.
- Familiarity with the latest SEN legislation and best practices.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Commitment to professional development and staying current with educational trends.
