Head of Payroll | Reading
Talent Junction has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Payroll to join a leading professional services firm in Reading.
They are looking to expand their leading people function by adding a Head of Payroll to the team. This is a fantastic role for an experienced Payroll leader who has proven experience of building and growing successful teams.
The Role
The Head of Payroll will be responsible for day to day management of the Payroll team and driving process improvements. In this role you will oversee signing off the payroll on a monthly and bi-weekly basis. You will work closely with the People and Finance function to advise on payroll legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage a team of 8 payroll professionals and support their day-to-day operations of processing.
• Develop and train the payroll team to enable them to reach their full potential and develop.
• Implement and monitor controls and procedures related to all areas of payroll and reporting
• Manage the month-end close working precisely to deadlines and time scales.
• Oversee the monthly payroll process for all employees globally across 6 countries.
• Deal with all payroll escalations
• Prepare the quarterly and annual reporting for the Finance and People function
• Assist the Finance and People function in setting the payroll strategy and remain responsible for the strategic direction of the payroll function, cost-effectiveness and service quality of the payroll function.
• Support internal and external audit processes
• Other ad-hoc tasks as required by the senior leadership team
Experience
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Payroll leader with 8+ years of experience (minimum 4+ years managing a team) within a large organisation. Experience in running large-scale payroll process improvement projects will be an advantage.
