Would you like to join an international defence company to support their clients by improving the capability, reliability and availability of their most critical assets? Due to continued investment, this global business is currently looking for a Lead Engineer, to join their existing team in Plymouth (hybrid working) on a 12 month contract.
The Role
You will be part of the Strategic Infrastructure Business Unit technically manage a team of engineers to identify and update extant Design Safety Reports (DSRs) to support the justification of safety claims made through the PSC220 Phase 4 safety assessment. As a DSR Updates Engineering Lead, your responsibilities will include the following but not limited to:
Provide leadership during the delivery of DSR updates through the application of process, domain knowledge and experience.
The technical management of the DSR Updates work package resources and delivery.
Ensure that the produced documentation covers the scope of operations required by the Safety Project Manager and Operations & Integration Manager, and is produced to agreed standards, schedule, and budget.
You
To succeed within the role of a DSR Updates Engineering Lead, you'll have experience in a similar position and have the following skills:
A degree in an appropriate engineering discipline.
Chartered Engineer (or working towards) and registered with Engineering Council.
The post holder must be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge and skills required in the technical management of complex design development throughout the design lifecycle.
Sound understanding of engineering design and safety practice as relevant to discipline, post and project requirements.
Experience of the design support to construction, operation, refit/repair of conventional and nuclear submarines and/or facilities
Please note that due to security nature of this role, offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining SC security clearance. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and will require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
