Purpose of the Role - Project Engineer (Electrical):
The Project Engineer (Electrical) will take the lead in managing the MEICA elements of various wastewater projects, ensuring that safety and quality standards are not only met but consistently exceeded. This role presents an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects for major water companies, contributing to the advancement of water infrastructure.
Key Accountabilities - Project Engineer (Electrical):
Collaborate with the Pre-Construction Team to prepare and submit tenders for electrical engineering projects.
Review client scope documents and liaise with the design team to obtain supplier quotations for electrical components.
Manage subcontractors and material orders, applying technical expertise within the water sector.
Conduct inspections and testing to maintain high standards in wastewater treatment projects.
Support project planning and programming, actively participating in collaborative planning sessions for water infrastructure projects.
Maintain quality assurance records and review subcontractor designs for buildability and maintenance in sewage treatment works.
Produce operating and maintenance manuals and attend site progress meetings for water engineering projects.
Coordinate MEICA works and inspect equipment both at the factory and on-site for water treatment facilities.
Advise on specification changes and their financial impacts in electrical engineering projects.
Provide technical assistance in contractual matters and liaise with clients in the water industry.
Supervise site activities and support site commissioning as needed for water projects.
Ensure timely provision of as-built and close-out documentation for electrical engineering projects. Competency Requirements - Project Engineer (Electrical):
Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
Ability to supervise site staff and work effectively in various environments. Technical/Professional Expertise and Qualifications - Project Engineer (Electrical):
A qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (Diploma/Degree preferred).
Desirable certifications: CITB 5 Day SMSTS, CSCS Card, EUSR Blue Card.
Experience in a contractor-based role within the water industry, particularly in sewage and water treatment works.
