About the Role:
As a Food Technology Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering exciting and interactive lessons that engage students with the practical and theoretical aspects of food technology. You will inspire students to explore their creativity, develop their skills, and understand the importance of nutrition, food safety, and sustainability. You will work within a supportive team to provide an enriching learning experience and help students succeed academically and personally.
Responsibilities of the Food Technology Teacher:
Teach Food Technology across key stages, inspiring students to develop their practical and theoretical knowledge.
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the needs of all learners.
Promote healthy eating habits and an understanding of food science.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to help students achieve their best.
Work collaboratively with other staff to ensure a high standard of education and student well-being.
Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and staff development opportunities.
Requirements of the Food Technology Teacher:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
A degree or qualification in Food Technology or a related subject.
Previous experience teaching Food Technology is preferred, but newly qualified teachers (NQTs) are also encouraged to apply.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an engaging learning environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
An up-to-date CV and an enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
