We are looking for a Project Finance Analyst - PowerBI for an initial 6-month contract, based hybrid in Derby on behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs.

Job description - the role

Working on and supporting the project to streamline reporting suites, improve management information (MI) capabilities, and enable data-driven decision-making. The role will be pivotal in providing accurate, actionable insights to drive performance improvements and operational efficiency. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact by driving step-change improvements in reporting and planning.

As a Project Finance Analyst - PowerBI, you will be responsible for:

Transforming the reporting suite to provide real-time, accessible Management Information (MI) that adds value to performance and improvement discussions.
Developing and implementing tools and processes to ensure accurate reporting of actuals and planning figures.
Managing and analysing large datasets, presenting insights in a clear and actionable manner for diverse stakeholders.
Building and refining Power BI tools for widespread organisational use.
Optimising planning processes, ensuring the delivery of relevant insights and constructive challenge.
Collaborating with the team to enhance performance metrics and identify improvement opportunities.
Supporting the team in responding to evolving business needs, including unplanned analysis and reporting requirements.What we require from the candidate:

Extensive experience with management information (MI) and reporting.
Advanced Power BI and Excel, with demonstrable expertise in data manipulation and analysis.
Proven track record of delivering business reports that drive performance improvements.
Background in finance projects, with an understanding of operational costs and management accounting principles.
Evidence of creating user-friendly Power BI tools for organisational use.
Experience with financial systems such as HFM and SAP.
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent); however, candidates with significant relevant experience but no formal qualification will be considered.Next steps
