Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 depending on experience

Working Hours: 40 hours per week from 9am to 6pm

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday plus Early Friday Finish

Holidays:  25 days plus bank holidays

Role Description

The selected candidate will oversee strategic and operational development of facilities around the UK, planification and execution of future growth plan. This candidate will need to be able to travel around the UK identifying risks and opportunities towards standardization of our portfolio and building up reports, processes and a clear action plan for a better management of facilities.

The role involves managing a helpdesk and subcontractors to ensure the effective delivery of both hard and soft services across a portfolio of 42 sites throughout the UK. The scope of services includes Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) cleaning, waste, energy, along with catering and security at our Centre of Excellence in Newcastle.

You will be responsible for:

Lead and manage the helpdesk, ensuring efficient coordination and communication across all service areas.

Oversee subcontractors to ensure timely and high-quality service delivery for both hard and soft facilities management services.

Manage the delivery of mechanical and electrical (M&E) services, cleaning, waste, catering, and security.

Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory standards.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet service-level agreements (SLAs)

Drive continuous improvement in service delivery and operational efficiency at all sites

Real Estate management, collaborate with landlords and our legal department

Mobilise new properties

Energy management

Cost management

Contracts management, working closely with the procurement department

Oversee facilities projects

Skills & Experience

Facilities Management Experience: At least 5 years of experience in facilities management, including managing both hard services (e.g., M&E maintenance) and soft services (e.g., cleaning, catering, security). Experience managing multiple sites is preferred.

Helpdesk Operations: Experience in running or overseeing a helpdesk operation, ensuring efficient handling of service requests and issue resolution.

Subcontractor Management: Proven experience in managing subcontractors and ensuring compliance with service-level agreements (SLAs).

Budget and Resource Management: Strong skills in managing budgets, resources, and schedules, ensuring cost-effective service delivery

Team Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams, particularly in a helpdesk or service delivery environment.

Stakeholder Management: Strong interpersonal skills to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, from clients and senior management to subcontractors and service providers.

Problem-Solving: A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues, ensuring smooth service delivery.

Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple priorities across different sites and service categories.

Innovative: The ability to take an open mind approach to every day tasks and continue to evolve.
