My client in Egham is currently in need of a Grinder due to expansion.

INTRODUCTION:

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

Cylindrical grinding and surface grinding of high precision components .

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

* Setting and operating Myford Cylindrical Grinders,

* Cylindrical grinding of small diameter journals to +/- microns in low volume production,

* Fitting and dressing of grinding wheels,

* Using MRP system for attendance and booking on and off works order cards,

* Ensuring that a high standard of housekeeping is maintained at all times,

* Supporting team members with other tasks as and when required,

* Helping to create and maintain a safe working environment and observe the published Health and Safety procedures,

* To carry out any other tasks where reasonable and relevant, when required.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Abrasive Wheel Qualification.

* Experience grinding to tight limits (+/- microns).

* Ability to work to drawings, procedures / standards and specifications.

* Ability to use hand tools and measuring equipment.

* Understanding of fits and tolerances.

* Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team environment and be able to work under pressure and to deadlines.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:

* GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at grade C or above.

* Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent.

* Experience grinding small batch work (Aerospace components).
