Salary: £19,500 per annum
Contract Type: Term Time (43.6 weeks per year)
Hours: 34 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:45 am – 3:45 pm (including a 30-minute lunch break)

The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join this school’s dedicated team. You will work closely with the Class Teacher to provide tailored support to pupils, helping them reach their full potential. A key part of the role includes supporting pupils during weekly swimming sessions and promoting their engagement in classroom and extracurricular activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Providing tailored 1:1 or group support to pupils with severe learning difficulties in their academic, personal, and social development.
* Assisting the Class Teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities.
* Preparing and organizing classroom resources and materials.
* Supervising pupils during breaks, lunchtimes, and one weekly after-school club.
* Supporting students during swimming sessions, ensuring their safety and engagement.
* Helping with personal care tasks where required, promoting independence.
* Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to the teaching team.
* Creating an inclusive and nurturing environment that meets the individual needs of every child.
Skills and Qualifications
* Experience working with children, particularly those with SEN, is desirable but NOT essential.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* A patient, caring, and empathetic approach to supporting children with complex needs.
* A willingness to participate in swimming sessions and extracurricular activities.
