Build Maintain Recruit are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join one of our esteemed clients, a prominent national service provider in the environmental sector. This is a full-time, permanent role based in Bristol, with occasional travel to other regional offices.
About the Role:
Reporting to senior leadership, the Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing all costs related to various contracts and projects. From the initial cost projections to final figures, the role involves optimising value for money, minimising expenses, and ensuring compliance with all legal and quality assurance requirements.
The position is critical for maintaining the financial health of large-scale projects by managing accurate valuations, monitoring progress, and implementing effective financial controls.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee a centralised order receipt system for efficient processing and timely action on large projects.
Establish industry standards for the application for payment system and deliver training where necessary.
Manage valuations, variations, and final account positions for large projects, ensuring their financial health.
Implement tighter invoicing controls and recommend improvements for efficiency within finance and procurement teams.
Monitor cost vs. value calculations and project future financial movements to ensure accurate cash flow.
Negotiate contract terms to align with business goals and mitigate risks. Qualifications and Experience:

A degree or professional qualification accredited by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is required.
In-depth knowledge of JCT & NEC contracts.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting. Other Qualities and Requirements:
