We are seeking a skilled Contract Hardware Development Engineer to join our team. Collaborate with software, firmware, electronics, and mechanical engineers to develop advanced medical devices and test rigs.
Key Responsibilities
Create technical documentation for hardware
Design complex circuits from specifications
Perform ad hoc tasks as directed
Solder and change minor components
Conduct PCB rework, cuts, and straps
Set up and test PCBs
Use basic bench equipment
Discuss designs with team members
Work independently
Design schematics and make layout changes in Altium
Recommend and implement PCB design changes
Collaborate with software and layout engineers
Mentor junior staff
Manage and update library control
Design for test and manufacture
Qualifications
Extensive experience in electronics hardware development
Strong understanding of end-to-end hardware and integration
Knowledge of modern manufacturing techniques for volume production
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
Strong organizational skills
Self-motivated and proactive
Desirable Experience
Fluid/air handling, motion control systems, optical sensors, thermal control systems
Medical device development to ISO 13485, high reliability, safety-critical, and automotive environments
Reviewing designs and planning for cost reductions
Working with interdisciplinary, international teams
FMEA and similar processes
EMC and safety testing
Working Conditions
Primary work location: Scale Space, with some off-site work possible
