Programme Manager - Construction (Public Sector)

We are looking for an experienced and outcome focussed Programme Manager with prior experience working with public sector clients on construction projects. This role involves setting up and managing programmes focusing on strategy and policies.

Our client, a leading construction consultancy, is seeking a dynamic and strategic Programme Manager to oversee and lead on an important public sector programme.

Ideally, the candidate will have a minimum of 5+ years' experience, be self-motivated and confident in a client facing role managing multiple projects and clients.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in the mentoring of colleagues, work with graduates and trainees, and contribute to their development.

Key Responsibilities:

* Establishing a strong working relationship with key stakeholders and ensuring that all requirements are delivered on time and within budget

* Leading the strategic development and assurance of the project

* Accountable for a delivery strategy and plan

* Project oversight

You will have:

* Proven experience in programme management within the public sector

* Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships.

* Experience in setting up and managing programmes, policies, and strategies.

* Excellent organisational and leadership abilities.

* Ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

* Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, and a good understanding of the use of different channels and formats for different audiences and producing clear advice on complex issues;

* Strong understanding of public sector governance and assurance

* Over 5 year’s experience in construction projects

* Commercially minded, with sound business acumen and a strong focus on performance, value for money and financial management working across employees, contractors and consultants.

* Ability to work under pressure and to respond quickly to changing circumstances and to demanding timescales

* Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary organisation

* Assisting in the development of new business opportunities with existing and new clients.

* Identifying and acting upon cross-selling opportunities
